Our Honest Truth #3 Learning From Our Mistakes

You asked for it, so here it is! Our questions and answers from our tutors for the month of July are here. This month I wanted to find out more about them. We had to find out the most important question; if you could go back in time what is one thing you would change about your education? Learning from our mistakes so maybe you make less of your own. Lastly, we wanted to find out what their favorite books growing up were. So without further delay, here are our tutors' responses!

If you could go back in time, what is one thing you would change about your education?

“Practicing methods of combating procrastination” - Christopher P.

“I wish I found better ways to focus. Since being in college, I've learned that I do best when things are taught to me visually.” - Emma S.

“I wish I had more defined goals” - Cassandra V.

“More one-on-one time early on” - Matthew S.

Finding out what kind of learner you are is a vital key to success in school. Learning to fight procrastination, defining goals or having more one on one time are all things that took us time and effort to learn.

In addition to finding out their mistakes, I wanted to find out what they are reading. If they spend their time teaching and helping you read, maybe learning what they read in their free time can give you future goals. Here are 5 books our tutors are reading that are their favorite books.

  1. Looking For Alaska by John Green

  2. Someone like you by Sarah Dessen

  3. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

  4. Paper Towns by John Green

  5. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

These books became our favorites growing up, and I hope they can become yours (or your childs) as well.
